Microsoft Office Document Imaging 2003 (MODI) Object Model and Viewer OCX Control

The free (with Microsoft Office 2003) Microsoft Office Document Imaging 2003 (MODI) Object Model and Viewer OCX Control provides in-built OCR technology from ScanSoft. The OCR engine can recognize text in images and the recognized text can then be exported for external use.

The Object Model and Viewer OCX Control ships for free with Microsoft Office 2003 and also provides other imaging functionality like displaying and rotating images.


WOCAR

A Microsoft Windows based OCR package developed by Cyril Cambien. This OCR
software is TWAIN-compliant and reads TIFF images.

OCRchie

This OCR package was originally developed by Kathey Marsden at U.C. Berkley as part
of a senior project.
