The Retrieval Process |
| |
|
1. Documents are scanned and indexed.
2. The scanned image and indexes are
sent to
the Archival Service. The
Archival Service
determines the best
location to store the image
and
updates the Ilixis Imaging database
with the location and
indexes.
3. The image is transferred to the secure
location. |
1. When a user needs to retrieve an
image, the
user keys in the index
values and sends the
request to the
Retrieval Service.
2. The Retrieval Service queries the
database
for the location of the image.
The Retrieval
Service verifies that the
image exists.
3. The Retrieval Service locks the image
and
sends the image to the user. No
other user can
modify the image as
long as the lock exists.
4. If the user has appropriate rights,
the user
can modify and re-archive
the image. | |

Value-Added Features
|
Ilixis Imaging is a multi-user solution. Once a user
retrieves an image, the image is locked and no other
user can access the image until the first user releases
the lock.
The administration module that comes
with Ilixis Imaging provides the administrator with the
capability of managing user logins; managing user
rights; viewing current activity - currently logged in
users and the images that individual users have locked;
and forcing users to log out or to release
locks.
Ilixis Imaging saves the archived images
in their original formats. The Ilixis
Image Console is used as the client interface for
Ilixis Imaging.
The Ilixis Image Console provides standard imaging functions like scanning;
multi-page format support; zooming; orientation
modification - rotating and flipping; tools - deskew,
despeckle, etc.
The Ilixis Image Console also supports annotations. Annotations are
digitized version of marks that are commonly applied to
physical paper documents - for example, highlighting,
rubber-stamping or “post-it” notes. Users can create,
modify or delete digital annotations can also be
permanently burned into the image. |
